About Backyard Farms

Backyard Farms is an Austin-based company specializing in the installation and maintenance of home-scale vegetable and herb gardens. Having a garden is much easier than most people think and growing your own food is healthy, tasty, fun, and fulfilling.

Whenever possible, we purchase materials from independent businesses and keep our carbon footprint as low as possible. Like you, we love our planet and care for it in every way we can.

About the Process

We create vegetable and herb gardens of all types and include you in every step of the way to ensure that the finished product will be a garden you'll love. You can expect:

Consultation Day

We combine our experience and creativity with your goals and ideas to plan your perfect garden. We then schedule the installation date and collect a deposit to cover materials costs.

Installation

We bring the materials, prepare the site, and install your garden. Depending on the complexity of your garden, the installation process can take 1-2 days.

Maintenance

We provide gardening tips free of charge, but some of our clients prefer to let us fully maintain their gardens at regularly scheduled intervals.

About Us

We founded Backyard Farms Austin in January, 2010, out of a desire to know our food. Backyard Farms Austin is a small company, allowing us to have direct interaction with our clients and maintain the highest quality in our work.
